A play written by Debora Threedy, professor of law at the University of Utah S.J. Qunney College of Law, recently was selected as one of four winners of the 2010 Mario Fratti-Fred Newman Political Play Contest.
As part of the award, in August, Threedy’s play, Third Crossing, will receive a staged reading at the Castillo Threatre in New York City. Closer to home, it will also receive a reading by People Productions June 22-26 at the Sorenson Unity Center, 1383 South 900 West, at 7:30 p.m.
Threedy, who majored in theatre as an undergraduate, said, “I never acted in N.Y., but now a play of mine will be read there!”
According to the contest’s organizers, Threedy’s play was selected from more than 200 entries.
