Two University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law professors have been named among the recipients of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Leadership in Ethics Education Awards for 2017-2018.
Teneille Brown and Jorge Contreras are among the U professors who will be honored at an awards ceremony in the spring, the David Eccles School of Business recently announced.

The awards honor faculty and staff across the campus of the U for their successful efforts to create new ethics-related courses, to integrate new business ethics content into existing courses, to mentor students on ethics initiatives and to help make business ethics a permanent fabric of our business school and other University of Utah academic programs and curricula. The awards are bestowed by the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at the David Eccles School of Business.
In addition to Contreras and Brown, the following individuals will be recognized at the Spring 2019 David Eccles Awards ceremony with Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative Leadership in Ethics Education Awards:
- David Grainger— College of Engineering
- Sue Sundar — Operations and Information Systems
- Rodrigo Noriega — College of Science
- Jeffrey Botkin — College of Health Sciences
- Paul Hu — Operations Management
- Chrisoula Andreou — College of Humanities
Each educator will receive a monetary award, as well as a plaque and medallion. The monetary award reflects the breadth and depth of the contribution to ethics education.
“We thank these colleagues for providing wonderful opportunities to students and other education seekers to learn, discuss, debate, compete and grow personally and professionally in many ways,” said Abe Bakhsheshy, director of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative at the David Eccles School of Business.

University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law Dean Bob Adler praised Brown and Contreras for their contributions to furthering the education of law students and for their respective scholarship.
“These awards recognize Jorge’s and Teneille’s excellence and creativity in addressing important ethical issues in their courses. Given that these are University-wide awards, which only a handful of faculty receive every year, it is a particular honor that two of our colleagues were awarded this year,” said Adler.
