Professor Emily Chiang and students in the Fall 2011 Public Policy Practicum will investigate 2-3 areas in which the clinic can make a difference in Utah. The areas of investigation will range from education-related issues to conditions of confinement. Students will decide (collaboratively) which issues to pursue for further action and will also work on preparing public policy statements in advance of the upcoming Utah state legislative session. Students have an option to earn clinical credit or pro bono credit for their practicum work in addition to the two credits they will receive for the classroom component. If opting for clinical credit, please submit a clinical application form for the desired number of credits (one credit equals 50 hours of work).
