PDO would like to remind you of the important deadlines for Fall OCI 2011, which is quickly approaching. So far, we have 51 employers–34 are conducting interviews on campus, 14 will participate in a “resume collect” and 1 is requesting a “direct send” of your application materials. These numbers will change as we add more schedules over the summer. You should be able to login to Symplicity in order to view an up-to-date list of the employers who will review resumes (and in many cases, interview) members of your class.
The dates you should have on your radar are the following:
- Student Bidding Period: July 20 at 8:00 a.m. to July 31st at 5:00 p.m. You should begin to upload your documents into Symplicity (the earlier the better), and apply. For tips on how this process works, please see the attached document. Please note that this deadline is extremely firm. Do not wait until the last minute.
- Employer Review: August 2nd at 8:00 a.m. to August 11th at 5:00 p.m. Those employers coming to campus will login to Symplicity, review application documents and make their preselections for interviews. Employers participating in the resume collect/direct send options may contact students depending on their hiring needs and criteria.
- Interview invitations will display on August 13, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. Do not wait until 8:15 to login to check! Some of you may be lucky enough to receive multiple interviews (some on the same day) and will need specific interview times in order to make others. DO make sure you have your class schedules available as you are signing up for your interviews.
- OCI will begin Monday, August 22nd and will run through the end of September. Please note that employers will be on campus the day before school starts, so those of you who receive interviews will need to plan to be on campus at that time.
PDO will be holding a Fall Recruiting Q&A session on Wednesday, July 13, from 12:15-1:15 in Borchard. This is a great opportunity to review the application process and to ask questions about topics such as timing and offers. You will need to submit your questions in advance in order to attend. Watch for more information. Also, on Wednesday, June 22nd from 12:15-1:15 in Borchard, PDO will be presenting a refresher session on Resumes & Cover Letters. This will help you get your major documents up to scratch in time for OCI. Anneliese and Jaclyn will also be available for individualized OCI counseling, including resume/cover letter review, etc. throughout the summer.
