This conference will address four aspects of electric power generation related to government efforts to reduce carbon emissions from this industry. The first panel will discuss the role of coal-fired electric power generation; the second panel will deal with the rapidly growing natural gas industry and the role of natural gas for generating electricity; the third panel will focus on the use of alternative energy to produce electricity; and the fourth panel will address the role of nuclear electric power. The speakers will focus their remarks primarily on electric power generation in the Western United States.
