The COVID-19 pandemic has been a most unwelcome stress test for our already overburdened systems of justice. But–like all good stress tests–this pandemic has given us a wealth of important information about our justice system’s weaknesses and has spurred innovations that would have otherwise taken years to implement. As we begin envisioning a post-pandemic world, what changes must be made to the processes and technology that hold together our system of justice? What new practices have developed in response to this crisis that might serve us well after we recover?
Panelists:
Dean Elizabeth Kronk Warner
Judge Clemens Landau, Salt Lake Justice Court Judge
Michael Houlberg, Manager Special Projects, IAALS (Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System)
