Summer is a booming time for clinics, with 95 students enrolled this summer! One student described his clinic as “Best law school experience thus far,” a sentiment echoed by many students eager to take skills and knowledge out of the classroom and into the community. All clinic applications for fall and spring have been processed; Judicial applications are being considered by judges and all other applicants have been accepted. Placements will be announced shortly. Openings remain in Civil Clinic, Public Policy Practicum, specialty clinics (Health Law, Victims’ Rights) and Judicial Clinic in the following courts: U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Utah Third District Court (including Juvenile), Utah Labor Commission (ALJ) and possibly Utah appellate courts. If you are interested in a Judicial Clinic, please submit your application to Kay in Room 212 or the front office Clinical mailbox no later than 9:00 am on Monday July 18. Clinical applications and placement preference forms (civil clinics) are available in the front office or across the hall from Room 225. Applications for other open clinics will remain open until filled. However, the Clinical Program office will be more likely to place you successfully if you apply as soon as possible.
