Rocky Mountain Innocence Center: Spanish Translation Open The Rocky Mountain Innocence Center (RMIC) works to correct and prevent the conviction of innocent people in Utah, Nevada, and Wyoming. RMIC has unique volunteer opportunities for law students in 3 basic categories: Students to assist with Spanish-speaking prisoners (both correspondence and in-person investigative interviews at the prison and in the community).  1  Agency
Legal Aid Society: Pro Se Family Law Room W-15 Open Legal Aid Society of Salt Lake City maintains a pro se clinic in Room W-15 (Matheson Courthouse) to assist pro se individuals who are representing themselves in family law matters such as divorce or custody issues. Clinic staff does not give any legal advice, but will provide information about the legal process & provide legal forms.  4  Agency
YLD’s Lawyers for Veterans Open Volunteer attorneys and volunteer 3L’s will be meeting with with Veterans who have legal questions. 2nd Thursday of every month from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm.  3L’s  Agency
NAAN & Utah Neighborhood Partners Open  The NAAN/PBI Mentor Program pairs foreign legal, judicial, or justice system professionals (“Participants”) in the NAAN program with current law students to enhance access to information and issues within the U.S. and Utah justice systems.  1-2  Agency
Wills for Heroes Open Assisting the YLD’s with intakes, drafting, etc. for police officers, firefighters, & other first responders.  4-5  Agency
Expungement Law: Brief Advice Open The Expungement Clinic is focused primarily on impediments to employment and seeks to assist low-income individuals with expungements and outstanding warrarnts.  2-5  PBI Clinic
Immigration Law: Brief Advice Open Immigration Legal Issues  PBI Clinic
Street Law: Brief Advice Open Students assist attorneys with intakes. The legal issues tend to focus on small claims, landlord-tenant, employment, discrimination, and consumer matters. Students may be required to do additional follow-up with clients under the direct supervision of attorneys. May include: writing a letter on behalf of client, representing client in small claims court or in administrative hearings, proceedings, and investigating claims.  7+  PBI Clinic
American Indian: Brief Advice Open Housing, family law, Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA), Tribal Land, Family Claim issues, etc. This Free Brief Advice Legal Clinic is held when the Center has large events. Please see the PBI office if you are interested in volunteering.  2-3  PBI Clinic

Sunday Homeless Outreach Open Law students will assist by providing intakes and looking over documents. All under the onsite supervision of volunteer attorneys. General legal questions & criminal issues.  3  Law-related
St. Vincent De Paul Open  Giving free legal advice to the homeless at the St. Vincent center. The attorney also takes on some cases for low or no fee. Extra research may be required, but can be conducted at school or home.  2  Law-related
Epperson & Owens Filled Need a law student volunteer to assist on a pro bono divorce for a mother of four children ages 17-25. Would like the student to take the lead on the documentation preparation with my supervision. The mother lives in Salt Lake County.  1  Firm/Solo
