On December 17, Quinney College of Law Professor Paul Cassell was interviewed by The New York Times on the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision allowing judges more discretion in drug sentencing.
In the article, Cassell, a former federal judge who recently stepped down to return to teaching at the U of U, explained that he “would much rather trade a much tougher guidelines system and get rid of mandatory minimums.â€
