Remember to log off

It is becoming a big problem that students are forgetting to log off when they leave the computer lab. It’s not only a hassle for other students who may not be able to sit at their favorite computer and the HelpDesk staff who have to unlock locked computers but it’s a danger to those of you who forget to log off.

Currently our policy is that only law students can use our computer lab but if you leave your account logged in a student or non-student could take advantage of the situation and use your account for nefarious purposes. Imagine if the next time you logged in to check your email and it’s all been erased? How about if someone had deleted a paper you had spent weeks and weeks working on, or some nearly completed application? What if they use your account to send threatening emails or make bomb threats, you could be liable!

Please, REMEMBER to log off when you leave the computer lab before we have to, for your own good, start taking punitive measures against those of you who forget!
