How to remove a virus

What you do to get rid of a virus is very dependent upon the type of virus.

  • First: make sure that your anti-virus software is up to date.
  • Second, you will need to run a full scan with your anti-virus software. After this you will want to run a malware remover program. We recommend MalwareBytes.

(if you are not able to run the scan, boot up into safe mode-F8)

  • If you run the scan and the software still does not remove the virus, you will need to make sure you make a back up of your computer and wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows.
