General Information

  • The Utah Law Review publishes four issues per year, one of which may be a special symposium issue on a topic of current legal interest.

  • The Utah Law Review begins accepting articles for consideration for publication on March 15th each year. See Review Process & Submission Requirements below for more information.

  • The Utah Law Review welcomes submissions of articles by judges, professors, and practitioners. We do not, however, review work submitted by current law students who are not Utah Law Review staff members.

  • The Utah Law Review welcomes and encourages electronic article submissions. Please send them to utahlawreview_submit@law.utah.edu. Hard-copy submissions should be mailed to:

Review Process & Submission Requirements

  • Each article will be reviewed by an Articles editor, with as many as four readings being completed prior to a decision. Articles are accepted for consideration beginning on March 15th.

  • All submissions should include a cover letter, and disks are not necessary unless the author's piece is selected. All cover letters should be less than a page and include:

    1. the title of the work,
    2. an e-mail address,
    3. a permanent email address, and
    4. a permanent daytime telephone number.

All submissions should be in Times 11-point or larger sized font, printed on one side of the page only, contain footnotes rather than endnotes, and have numbered pages. Please format all submissions, whether electronic or hard-copy, in Microsoft Word.
